The Concept
OnDisplay examines our obsession with sharing. Technology has made it easier than ever for us to share images. The Information is being shared so fast that we need to work harder to maintain privacy. Our desire to be popular leads us to post on public forums. The rise of the use of selfie in today’s world is one perfect example for this increasingly narcissistic culture, where many have relinquished the control they have over their own images when posting themselves online.
The Execution
OnDisplay is a live-feed of never ending stream of real selfies posted on Instagram, along side the count of every single posted with the selfie tag since the beginning of Instagram!

OnDisplay.media is designed to be displayed using a projector in a large space. The goal is to overwhelm the viewers with the selfies that are being shared online. It is also a participatory and experiential project. It is using the web browser as a tool to gather the information from Instagram in real-time.
